The BC Philatelic Society meets weekly except for holidays from September through June; a few meetings are scheduled for July and August.We meet in the South Community Room of the West Burnaby United Church, 6050 Sussex Avenue, in Burnaby, the suburb immediately east of Vancouver.

We enjoy a wide range of activities at our meetings:

We try to schedule speakers on alternating months to discuss his or her philatelic specialty or schedule a special presentation such as a slide shows, "Show & Tell" programs, book nights, debates, etc. Speakers are increasingly hard to come by; if you'd like to make a presentation, please contact the President, Duff Malkin

Throughout the year, we enjoy some 20 Swap & Shop Socials, half on Monday mornings and half on Wednesday nights. You'll enjoy refreshments and a chance to peruse circuit books from the Royal Philatelic Society of Canada. Dealer members often bring stamps and covers to sell and trade, and there's always lots of philatelic chatter.

Once a month, except in August, we have a club auction that is open to all members and guests; the club charges a 10% commission on the hammer price of each lot sold. Donation lots, which don't have to be philatelic, are welcomed. Sellers should submit no more than six lots, and any number of donation lots. Auction lots should be thoroughly described, with the minimum acceptable bid indicated. The auction committee reserves the right to reject any lot offered for auction.

The club sometimes departs from the regular schedule for special programs or because of unforeseen circumstances. Midsummer doldrums are energized with a popular midsummer auction, in July.
